NEW YORK - September 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -new record-breaking tourism arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Israel welcomed 78,000 American tourists in July 2022. This was a 4 percent increase over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in August 2022.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) stated that it was exciting to observe an increase in tourism to Israel coming from the United States. Already surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2019 he stated. "The United States is our top market for inbound tourism to Israel and prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 was announced, we had record-breaking tourism entry numbers each month. We're so happy to see this positive change and expect a continued upswing for the months and years to follow."
Canada is set to surpass Israel's tourist arrivals 7200 tourists are expected to visit Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We aren't far off our record in 2019, and we anticipate that the increase in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable traveling internationally."
Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million international visitors in the year 2019 and this included 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all travelers, regardless if they are vaccinated. Israel has already hosted over 600,000.
