NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today announced new records for tourist arrivals to Israel from the United States in July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 American tourists during July 2022. It was a four percent increase over the year before, while 71,000 American tourists visited Israel in August 2022.

Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. He said, "It's so exciting to once more see an increasing number of tourists visiting Israel from America, which is already exceeding or even surpassing our record-breaking numbers for 2019". "The United States is the top market for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemichit, we were celebrating record-breaking figures of tourist entry each month. This is a positive shift that we are pleased to witness and anticipate an upward trajectory for years to be."

Canada with 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022, and 6,000 in August, isn't much behind the United States.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism declared that "it's amazing to see the way that tourism in Canada is booming." "We are not far from our record 2019 and we expect that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to grow because Canadians are more comfortable traveling across the globe."

Israel welcomed over 4.6 million tourists in the year of 2019. 969,600 came from the United States. The country's officially reopening to travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
